Long Distance Signal Receiver

Some scenarios require you to run more than 30 feet of cable between your controller and first light of a light string, or you may need to make a long distance jump between two strings of lights. In either situation, you may encounter data signal issues*. This is why we designed the Huckleberry Signal Extending System, comprised of a signal sender and a signal receiver. The Huckleberry Signal Receiver receives a special 2-wire signal from either the Huckleberry Controller or Huckleberry Signal Sender and converts it to the single wire data signal your lights need. Both the Huckleberry Controller and Signal Sender can communicate through up to 500+ feet of cable to the receiver.

If you need to run more than 30 feet between your controller and first light, simply add the Signal Receiver to your system. To make a long distance jump between two sections of lights add a Signal Sender at the end of the first section of lights and a Signal Receiver at the start of the next section of lights (see wiring diagram below under Resources).

Using communication methods used in high speed computer networking, we have developed these devices to enable you to install your controller box anywhere you desire in your home and get clean data signals to your lights, even if your lights are hundreds of feet from your controller. We have reliably tested data transmission over 500 feet of cable with a perfect data signal at the other end. In many cases, the signal will transfer over even longer sections of cable.

* Every situation is different since many different factors play into the noise that could be introduced on the signal wire from outside interference. Home wiring in walls, strong radio waves, and other electrical noise sources could make your situation require a signal receiver at shorter lengths of cable. In other cases you may be able to get even further without a signal receiver.
